Home decor store Baaya, is hosting Bangla Joshon, a West Bengal folk art festival where you can shop for Bengal Patachitra, Santhal and Kalighat art.
The Kalighat style of paintings from Kolkata depicts stories and events reflecting social themes and day-to-day events in Bengali society of the 1900s as well as in current times.
The Bengal Patachitra is akin to a form of visual storytelling, like a graphic novel while Santhal art displays the Santhal tribe’s ancient customs, activities and festivals.
The range of products includes handpainted leather bags, pouches, wine holders, textile cushion covers, bedspreads, vases, folders and coasters.
