Featuring 70 prominent personalities from different walks of life, a new video of the national anthem 'Jana Gana Mana' has now been released.

Conceived and directed by filmmaker Rajeev Walia, the video is being released in 150 countries and over 600 theatres. "It is very important that we should teach the national anthem of India to our children and modern youngsters who listen only to western, hippie and pop songs. It took me eight months to make the video" Walia told reporters here.


Swaroop Bhalwankar has composed the track and also given his voice to the anthem along with child singer Sanchiti Sakat. Among the celebrities who are featured in the video are actors Shilpa Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, Tusshar Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Isha Koppikar, Mallika Sherawat, Johnny Lever, etc.

Magician P C Sorcar has also been roped in along with classical dancer Sujata Mohapatra, cricketers like Irfan and Yusuf Pathan, wrestler Sangram Singh, singers include Alka Yagnik, Anu Malik, Javed Ali, Mohit Chauhan, Udit Narayan, etc. Some other eminent names include Poonam Dhillon and Padmini Kohlapuri.

Shot against the backdrop of iconic places like Taj Mahal, Konark Temple, Bandra Sea-link, India Gate, Red Fort, it also features 1500 school children, Indian football and badminton players and 500 coalmine workers.
