The actress will relaunch the defunct Bombay Dost India's first gay magazine


Celina Jaitly is carrying forward her association and support for gay rights by relaunching India's first registered gay magazine Bombay Dost.

The actress hopes that it will re instill a distinct culture, and bonding within the community that chooses to practice and follow an alternate view of living.

She says, "The magazine is a unique platform for members of the gay community to reflect their viewpoint."

Question time

The actress's association with Bombay Dost doesn't merely end with the launch.

She plans to take it further on heru00a0her Facebook group as well asu00a0 website mycelinajaitly.com and also.

"I have several gay readers who log on to my website and post their relationship questions.

I plan to take them to Bombay Dost that has a section for such queries.

Also my Facebook group for gay rights will have a link to the magazine."u00a0

Bombay Dost

Bombay Dost (1990) is India's first registered gay magazine.

It connected gays across the country, taking away their sense of isolation and disempowerment, giving them hope of a life, without stigma and discrimination.

Beset by lack of advertising andu00a0 funds, the mag stopped publication in 2002. Today, it is back in a new, bolderu00a0avatar.u00a0u00a0
