New Delhi: Asserting the Centre¿s commitment to 'Swacch Bharat Abhiyan', Union Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation Birender Singh has said the government would provide toilets to 11 crore households by 2019.


Addressing media on the achievements of the NDA Government in the last one year, Singh said that five crore houses have already been provided with toilets.


Furthermore, on the issue of drinking water in the rural areas, Singh said his ministry is working towards achieving the target of providing piped water to 90 percent of the population by 2022.


He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to providing clean drinking water for all and has esxpressed a desire to set aside Rs. 2600 crores for the same.
