Chennai: Haryana's Rahul Dewan hit a strokeful century on a day that saw three tons being scored in the two-day quarter-final encounters of the Buchi Babu Memorial cricket tournament here yesterday.


Electing to bat, Haryana rode on Dewan's superb 119 to manage 231 all out in 83.1 overs against TNCA Districts XI. R Sai Kishore returned with impressive figures of 6-89. TNCA Districts XI 18 for no loss in four overs at the end of opening day's play. In another game, Andhra Pradesh's Pradeep struck a solid 157 to help his team post a mammoth 351 all out in 81.4 overs against TNCA President's XI. Pradeep gathered 92 runs via fours and sixes.


Rahil S Shah returned with impressive figures of 5 for 116. TNCA were 13 for one in six overs at stumps. TNCA XI's Washington Sundar was the third centurion of the day when he stroked a well-made 108 against Himachal Pradesh. Akash took a five-wicket haul. Brief Scores: Haryana 231 in 83.1 Overs (Rahul Dewan 119 (240b, 10x4), Sunny Singh 39, Himanshu Rana 27, R Sai Kishore 6 for 89, T Natarajan 2 for 43) vs TNCA Districts XI 18 for no loss in four overs.
