We hear that the star has opened a medical camp for cancer patients in need of financial help. The camp is running out of a garden opposite his house at Galaxy Apartment, Bandra and charges patients Rs 2 per consultation.
A source says, “Every morning, there is a long queue outside his home of people armed with medical files and papers. Salman has provided a doctor along with two bodyguards to attend to the patients. Sometimes the charge is a measly Rs 2 and sometimes it is done free of cost.”
A friend of the star says, “Salman has long been associated with cancer awareness. Time and again, cancer patients have sought help from him. What better place to start the initiative than in front of his own house?”
Sources also say that for an extremely needy patient, the matter is referred to Salman, who takes over the case from that moment on. “It’s been 13 years since Salman got involved in helping cancer patients. He has not stopped working on it ever since.”u00a0
