Defined as a ‘Fam-com’ or family-comedy by director Prateek Chakravarty, the cast and crew of From Sydney with Love recently visited the city for the film’s promotion. A press conference was hosted by Fame Fun n Shop, and the entire star cast was hosted by Four Points by Sheraton.
From Sydney with Love is the story of a small town girl, Meghaa, from West Bengal who shifts to Sydney for further education. The plot revolves around the journey of the middle class girl as she chases her dreams. Enjoying her stint with a new set of friends, including cherubic Lubaina, prankster Raj, and narcissistic Suhail she meets with a guy, Rohit. A lot of fun and drama unfolds in the film thereafter.
Television actor Sharad Malhotra, who is making his big screen debut with this film, says, “I am very excited to be part of this film which has been made by the same banner that made Ziddi, Dream Girl and Love in Tokyo. This is a feel-good film and the audience will come out of the movie-hall with a smile on their face.”
Director Prateek Chakravarty stated that the film has six songs, one of which has been composed by US based composer, Brooklyn Shanti. “A sweet surprise is also in store in the form of a Kishore Kumar song. Young audiences have already loved the music and hopefully they will love the film too as it is a story that will match their wavelength.”
The film also stars Evelyn Sharma, a German-based actor of Indian origin, who has learned Hindi exclusively for the film, and aspires to be a big name in the industry and she already has four films in her kitty. From Sydney with Love releases on August 3 at theatres across the country.
