CM Prithviraj Chavan's picture replaces that of Ashok Chavan on Congress office's wall at BMC HQ

In just a matter of two days and with the contribution of a mere Rs 200 from Congressmen at the BMC, the picture of Ashok Chavan, which was hung up at theu00a0 Congress party office at the BMC headquarters was removed and the picture of current Chief Ministeru00a0 Prithviraj Chavan was installed.

The picture of former CM Ashok Chavan was replaced with one of Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan
at the Congress party's office at BMC headquarters yesterday

On Thursday, MiD DAYu00a0 had reported that after almost three months of Prithviraj Chavan having taken over as CM, his picture was still missing from the wall of the party office at BMC.

According to sources, an office bearer from the BMC went to Mantralaya with a small copy of the photograph and had it scanned and enlarged by another colleague, which was then framed and placed in its rightful place.

Vinod Shekhar, the Congress corporator confirmed this saying, "Yes, we changed the picture as soon as it was ready."

Another noteworthy point is that while Ashok Chavan's picture has been removed, the photographs of former chief ministers Sushil Kumar Shinde and Vilasrao Deshmukh continue to find pride of place on the wall, which also has photographs of Congress President, Sonia Gandhi and PM Manmohan Singh.
