Check out Sachin Tendulkar's awesome 'star power' in this selfie

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar took a selfie with the his new co-owners of Indian Super League franchise, Kerala Blasters FC. And they are: megastars Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna, film producer Allu Arvind and industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad

Who are Sachin Tendulkar's new 'friends'? The Master Blaster, who was known for his hitting ability in the middle during his playing days, hit one out of the park on Twitter on Wednesday.


The cricket legend took a selfie with the his new co-owners of Indian Super League franchise -- Kerala Blasters FC. The selfie has some movers and shakers.



The star power on display in the selfie includes Telugu megastars Chiranjeevi and Akkineni Nagarjuna, leading film producer Allu Arvind and industrialist and serial entrepreneur Nimmagadda Prasad. They have all joined hands to purchase stakes in Blasters Sports Pvt. Ltd, the owners of Kerala Blasters Football Club.

Tendulkar, will continue to be a co-owner of Kerala Blasters holding a significant stake.

Tendulkar captioned the selfie, "The #yellowmeinkhelo selfie with new co-owners. A warm welcome to the football crazy world of @KBFCOfficial."

Tendulkar, along with the other owners spoke at press briefing in Thiruvananthapuram, "We are beginning our third season in right earnest and have some of the biggest names coming on board as investors in Kerala Blasters."

"Last couple of seasons, watching football has been exciting," the master blaster said.

"I welcome Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Allu Arvind and Prasad to this exciting experience which is made more special with the faith and unique place that Kerala Blasters holds in the hearts of millions of its followers," said Tendulkar.

Tendulkar said he values the support he had received from each of his fans.

"Not always I performed well. There were obstacles on a number of occasions. That is what you need to practice to face challenges and overcome them," he said.

"Kerala Blasters in the first season performed really well, but the second year was difficult, which was absolutely
normal in sport," he said.

"Many guys tried to tell me many things. But being a sportsman, I exactly understand how hard players go and try. I felt fans motivated them, so they go and give their best. I have no doubt that this season the fans will stay with
Kerala Blasters and make them give their best.

"I feel when passion and profession gets together, the results follows. Everyone is passionate about football. There is lot of planning and thinking going on behind the scenes now. The target is to lift the trophy this season," Tendulkar added.

Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi said being part of the association was a new experience to him. Chiranjeevi said he had essayed roles of a footballer -- a goalkeeper and coach in two of his films.

Chiranjeevi said, he is very excited to be part of a popular team co-owned by Tendulkar.

"All of us in Kerala Blasters are committed to expanding the football base in the state and give the potential talent a platform to perform and excel," said Chiranjeevi.

Stressing that sports should become an integral part of children's education, fellow actor Nagarjuna said that unfortunately the country was lagging behind in sports.

"I have been supporting sports in the country and I am excited to start with football and a very special football team - the Kerala Blasters. I am keenly looking forward to experience the craze for the game in the state and beyond and wish the team the very best," said Nagarjuna.

Arvind said, he is very happy to strengthen his special relationship with Kerala by being a part of Kerala Blasters.

Kerala Blasters enjoys the highest television popularity in the country with an average TRP of six with a 100 per cent year-on-year increment in the Kerala market.
