Beer it up!
This year, you can gulp down an authentic range of beers at the festival. To help you select your drink, we give you lowdown on what they will be serving.
Oktoberfestbier - M rzen
M rzen is the historic forerunner of the Oktoberfestbier and the name comes from 'March' in German. Marzenbier has a malty aroma and is a medium strong version and seasonal to the Oktoberfest, where it is offered as a traditional specialty.
Hefeweizen (Wheat Beer)
Pronounced as 'Vice beer', the summer-time favourite in Bavarian beer-gardens is made from a combination of malted barley and wheat. This brew is traditionally fermented with a special strain top-fermenting yeast, which imparts a hint of cloves and bananas.
A sparkling apple wine, it is made exclusively from the juice of sun-ripened apples grown on the hilly slopes of Himachal Pradesh and matured to perfection with French Champagne-yeast.
