Forwards Drogba, Kalou & Sturridge score in 3-0 win over N'castle in EPL to ease pressure on under-fire Chelsea boss Villas-Boas

Chelsea eased the pressure on embattled boss Andre Villas-Boas with a 3-0 victory over Newcastle at St James' Park on Saturday. But the win, courtesy of a first-half Didier Drogba effort and a pair of late strikes from Salomon Kalou and Daniel Sturridge, saw Chelsea climb above Newcastle, who lost for the first time on home soil this season.

Anelka, Alex to leave Chelsea?
Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas confirmed on Saturday that the Premier League club have accepted transfer requests from France striker Nicolas Anelka and Brazil defender Alex. Neither Anelka or Alex featured in Saturday's win.

City thrash Norwich 5-1
Manchester City extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to seven points with a 5-1 win over Norwic. Sergio Aguero, Samir Nasri, Yaya Toure, Mario Balotelli and Adam Johnson were on target for Roberto Mancini's men. Steve Morison pulled one back for Norwich.

Gunners punish Wigan 4-0
Resurgent Arsenal moved into fifth place with a 4-0 rout of Wigan that pushed the Latics to the bottom of the table.

Mikel Arteta opened the floodgates with a  long range effort. Thomas Vermaelen headed the second a minute later, Gervinho and Robin van Persie added to the tally.
