Chief health officer, ex-mayor booked for Rs 1-lakh forgery

Shivajinagar police have registered a case against PMC’s chief health officer Dr S T Pardeshi and ex-Mayor Mohansingh Rajpal, on charges of issuing forged certificates to one C N Ravishankar, which allegedly resulted in a loss of Rs 1 lakh loss to the Pune Municipal Corporation

Shivajinagar police have registered a case against PMC’s chief health officer Dr S T Pardeshi and ex-Mayor Mohansingh Rajpal, on charges of issuing forged certificates to one C N Ravishankar, which allegedly resulted in a loss of Rs 1 lakh loss to the Pune Municipal Corporation.

RTI activist Ravindra Barhate has lodged the FIR in this regard at the Shivajinagar police station.  According to his compliant, Ravishankar had obtained fake certificates in the name of his deceased sister, Rajlakshmi Balsubramaniam, and had benefited from the various schemes being run by the PMC for the urban poor population.

Complicit
Dr Pardeshi and Rajpal had allegedly helped Ravishankar prepare the forged documents.  Police Inspector Seema Mehendale said, “We have registered a case against the three people on the basis of a complaint. We are still  investigating the matter and further suitable action will be taken accordingly. No arrests have been in this case so far.”
