Almitra Tattva is a new Indian brand that offers traditional baby carriers from the north-east
If you are a new parent or a caretaker, you would have figured by now (the hard way) about the amount of attention that newborns require. The only option in such a scenario is to carry your little one around while you’re on the move. There are several plastic or fibre based buckled carriers available in the market, but the question that always comes to mind is, are they are comfortable for the child?
With this in mind, Almitra Tattva, a new Indian fashion brand has launched a series of child care products, inspired from the traditional baby-wearing methods practised in the north and north-east region of India.
These child care products are available in three forms: wraps, mei tai and ring slings. Wraps (in pic) are long woven fabrics that are used to wrap a child around, Mei Tai is an Asia-inspired baby wearing carrier that comes with buckles, is lighter, cooler and less bulkier than the plastic/fibre soft structured carriers. Mei tais are available in regular as well as wrap-converted options.
A ring sling is a one-shouldered carrier, like a sling. each carrier comes with a manual to help you understand and learn the correct method to use them. These carriers are made from hand-woven fabrics, and are available in a variety of colours and prints. At present, the company accepts orders online with a payment gateway, and also ships across the country.
