The city’s top corporate honchos will tee off at the Aamby Valley Golf Course on January 5 and 6 for a spot in the national finals of the World Corporate Golf Challenge to be held in April 2013.

With 160 golfers to compete over two days, teams from Mantri developers, Ballantines, Indian Terrain, Siemens, Nesco, Parle, PWC, Accenture, HUL, Cadbury, HSBC and Standard Chartered will be seen in action. The top two teams from each day of the qualifiers will book their berth in the national finals, where they will match their skills with 14 teams from other cities for the opportunity to represent India at the World Finals to be held at the picturesque Carrick Golf Course, on Loch Lomond, Scotland from the 7th to 12th of May, 2013.

Now in its 13th edition in India, Take Solutions World Corporate Golf Challenge is India’s only official qualifying event for the prestigious World Corporate Golf Challenge and has established itself as a platform for corporate golfers to showcase their skills and compete with the best golfers from India and around the world.

The first regional qualifiers were held in Bangalore, followed by the next round in Kolkata, with Mumbai being the third city to play host the regional qualifiers, followed by Hyderabad and will conclude with qualifiers in Delhi. With support from Shriram Ventures Ltd, Mantri Developers (Associate Sponsors), Co-Sponsors Emirates (Official Airline) and Ballantine’s, the event is set to bring together the best golfers from across the country.

The team that qualifies to represent the country will have a rich legacy to live up to, as the Indian teams, since their maiden entry in 1999, have done exceptionally well at the World Finals. The Credit Suisse team won the Championships in Spain in 2008 and Indian teams finished runners-up in 2010 and 2011.

In 2007, team Mercedes-Benz finished a creditable 5th amongst the 25 participating countries, and was also voted the most popular team of the tournament. Last year, the team from McLeod Russel notched up a top-10 finish, ending tied at 8th alongside the English Team.u00a0
