Mumbai beat Pune 30-24 to win the girls' U-17 District Sports Office (DSO) State basketball title at Brahmapuri in Nagpur recently.
VIBGYOR High (Goregaon) team represented the Mumbai District team. Three of the girls — Palak Gupta, Nidhi Shah and Abuzar Patel — are part of the Maharashtra state team that will play in the nationals.

The girls first registered a 39-12 win over hosts Nagpur.u00a0Later, in the semi-final they beat Amravati 27-14. “It is a matter of pride not only for VIBGYOR High, but for Mumbai city. This victory wouldnt have been possible without our coaches — Edward Salve and Nelson Fernandes.
“I am confident that our girls selected in the state team will continue playing well at the national level. I just hope that we win the title,” said Principal Shim Mathew.
