On the first anniversary of 26/11 Mumbai attacks which claimed 173 lives, popular city-based band Silver will dedicate songs to the never-say-die spirit of Mumbai. A popular name on the national rock music circuit, Silver was formed just two years back when the band members were all undergraduate students (they recently completed their graduation).

The four-member band includes Rishi (Bass and Vocals), Amit (Drums), Savio (Guitar and Vocals) and Mahesh (Vocals). They have already won a couple of national and international awards, including the Yamaha Roxx 2008 and Independence Rock 2008.

"Winning these awards gave a boost to our careers and fetched us a lot of recognition as well. Thanks to it, we are bombarded with offers for concerts. Representing India at Taiwan for the Asian Beat 2008 competition was a real honour. At the same time, the expectations of our fans has also grown and there is the added responsibility to perform better," adds Rishi.

From performing covers by famous artists, Silver has moved on to performing original compositions. "Creating lyrics or music is an inborn talent and comes quite naturally to us. Since we listen to an array of musicians across genres, there is a certain versatility to our music as well," adds Rishi.

Preferring not to be pigeonholed in a certain genre, the band prefers playing experimental and progressive Rock, Jazz, Blues, Funk and Reggae and blends original compositions with covers.

"We will be performing two numbers that we have composed ourselves, which are titled 26/11 and Vagabond. We will also play other popular numbers like Funky Chunky and Feel the Heat," adds Amit. The lyrics of the songs are inspired by humorous real-life experiences and politics.
