Civic reports on toilets for women fail to satisfy Bombay HC

The Bombay High Court is upset with the compliance reports of all municipal corporations in the state, regarding construction of public toilets for women.

The Bombay High Court has been hearing a petition filed by a Pune-based woman for the Right to Pee campaign, for free, safe and clean public toilets for women in the state.

The bench of Justices Abhay Oka and Prakash Naik in the last hearing had asked all municipal corporations to file compliance reports by March 8 as to how many toilets they had built in their jurisdictions for women.
The civic corporations filed the reports, but they were not to the court's satisfaction.

The court had also advised the municipal corporations to appoint a committee to identify the spots to build the toilets.
