A 28-year-old Kandivli-based BMC school teacher has been arrested by Samta Nagar police for allegedly molesting a 10 year-old girl inside the classroom. The accused was reportedly abusing the child, a student of his, for the past three days, on the pretext of tutoring her after school hours.

According to sources from Samta Nagar police station, the accused Ankush Jadhav is a Hindi teacher at the BMC school, while the girl is a Std III student. The incident came to light on Monday evening, after the child told her mother that she was not feeling well, and her entire body was aching. Her mother took her to a neighbourhood doctor, and it was then revealed that someone had been touching the girl’s private parts.

The shocked mother took her daughter back to their residence, and later filed an FIR at Samta Nagar police station. Cops reached Ankush Jadhav’s abode in Jogeshwari, but he was not present there. However, he was taken into custody yesterday morning from the school.

The accused has been booked under various sections of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. He was produced in court and was remanded in police custody. On Saturday, a 40-year-old peon, Mallesh Sonawane, was arrested for sodomising a six-year-old boy inside a Thane-based school’s toilet during lunch hour.
