Midfielder Adelino Vieirinha extended the lead to make it 2-1 for Wolfsburg in the 29th minute of the match, the Guardian reported.
It was in the 82nd minute when midfielder Josuha Guilavogui netted a goal into his own net to help United equalize the score again.
But just two minutes later Naldo came up with his second goal to give United a third-place finish in the tournament and relegating them into the Europa League.
With the win, Wolfsburg have finished at the top-spot in the group B of the standings.
