A Car caught fire at 12.30 am today at Nandedgaon on the Pune-Sinhagad road. It was a narrow escape for the occupants of the car.
The people in the car were returning from a marriage function at Phursungi.
Car owner Neelish Ghule (24) was at the wheel and was about to park it at his residence when people alerted him that smoke was emanating from the car.

The four wheels of the car burst and the seat cushions were charred black, leaving behind just the steel skeleton of the vehicle.
Ghule said it might be a short circuit in the car that caused the fire.
Anandnagar Fire Station personnel rushed to the spot and doused the flames in 15 minutes.
Prabhakar Umratkar, chief of Anandnagar Fire Station, rushed to the spot with a fire tender. He said that it took over 1,000 litres of water to control the fire.
"It is difficult to specify the reason behind the fire as we reached after the fire had engulfed the car," he said.
It was also suspected that the Ghule family and their neighbours were playing with fireworks before the car entered the village.
The Haweli police, who are investigating the fire incident, are not ruling out the possibility of a spark having fallen on the car and igniting the LPG or patrol.
