Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis yesterday directed the district collectors to concentrate on ensuring water supply in drought-hit areas and take strict action against those engaged in illegal sale of water. The CM gave the instructions while interacting with 21 collectors via video conference where he also reviewed the drought situation. He directed the officials to set up a ‘war-room’ in each district and a 24x7 toll-free helpline number so that people can seek help (regarding water supply, etc).

The Government had already got 69,986 applications for farm ponds (under its scheme), he said. He also directed the collectors to submit plans for the implementation of ‘Pradhan- mantri Krishi Sinchan Yojna’.

While reviewing the progress of farm pond scheme, he directed the officials to take the help of Groundwater Survey and Development Agency (GSDA) for feasibility study.

He also reviewed the progress of crop insurance, fodder and water availability, works under ‘Jalyukt Shivar’ and ‘Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojna’.
