11 coaches of Muzaffarpur-Yesvantpur train get derailed; 1 dead, several hurt

One passenger died and several others were hurt after 11 bogies of Muzaffarpur-Yesvantpur Express got derailed near Arakkonam today morning.

One passenger was killed and several others injured when a train derailed at Sitheri near Arakkonam this morning, railway sources said.

11 coaches of the Muzaffarpur-Yesvantpur Express derailed at about 5.50 am, they said.

One passenger was killed in the mishap, while the injured were admitted to the hospitals by the rescue teams of Southern Railway.

In the wake of the incident, the rail traffic on Arakkonam junction has been affected, sources said.u00a0
