New York: San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick vowed to maintain his boycott of the US national anthem on Thursday after being roundly booed for refusing to stand during a rendition of the song.

Kaepernick has triggered debate in the US for his protest of ‘The Star Spangled Banner’ which he hopes will draw attention to the plight of blacks in America. His protest drew support from Eric Reid.
