Convocation ceremony of 130th National Defence Academy course

Pune: The Convocation ceremony of 130th National Defence Academy course was held at Habibullah Hall, NDA on Monday and around 298 cadets were conferred degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), which included 110 cadets from Science stream, 124 cadets from Computer science stream and 64 cadets from Social science stream including six foreign cadets.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Anil Sahasrabuddhe, Chairman All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). He was received by Vice Admiral G Ashok Kumar, AVSM, VSM, Commandant, National Defence Academy.The Chief Guest in his convocation address spoke at length about the importance of military training and congratulated the cadets for undergoing it with dedication and hardwork. He also motivated the cadets to carry forward the professionalism imbibed at the academy in their respective fields.

Trophy Winners
DCC R Joshi won the Commandant's Silver Medal and COAS Trophy presented by General K Sundarji, PVSM (Retd) for standing first in Science stream with highest FGPA (Final Grade Point Average). BCA V Sangwan got the Commandant's Silver Medal and the Admiral's Trophy presented by Admiral Suresh Mehta, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, and Chief of the Naval Staff (Retd) for standing first in Computer Science stream with highest FGPA.

BCC N Bhatt bagged the Commandant's Silver Medal and the CAS Trophy presented by Air Chief Marshal N C Suri, PVSM, AVSM, VM (Retd) for standing first in Social Science Stream with highest FGPA. DCC R Joshi also bagged the Chief of Naval Staff Trophy presented by Admiral OS Dawson, PVSM, AVSM (Retd) for standing first amongst all the three streams.
