Cool tricks to beat the heat

With the sun beating down on you,u00a0 leaving the cool confines to go to work seems like a task in itself. The sweltering weather tires you easily and leaves you hot-headed in more ways than one. Big Break gives you some tips to stay cool this season:

Lighten up: Wearing the right kind of outfits can help you stay cool
in this season

Dress right
The first step to staying cool wearing the right kind of clothes. Loose cotton fabrics that don't stick to your body, flowy garments in soothing colours can go a long way in keeping you comfortable. And unless you are comfortable this season, you won't be able to rest your frayed nerves.

Hair and there
Sport a summer hair-do. Head to the hairdresser and get a hairstyle that's trendy and easy to maintain in
summer. Hair plays a big role in reflecting anyone's personality. A nice summer hair cut will get you in a truly sunny mood.

Healthy inside out
Eat the right stuff. Cut down on tea and coffee with milk. Milk tends to produce acidity and can be bad during summers. Switch to iced teas, mint teas, lemongrass teas. Oily, fried foodstuffs, lots of cheese, red gravies and too many spices are to be avoided if you want to stay calm.

Indulge in coolants
Drink lots and lots of water to keep your system clean. Fluids are good for summers. So aam panna, chaas, lassi, natural fruit juices can help you keep the system cool. But beware, we aren't recommending chilled beer though. That isn't actually a coolant.

Fit and fine
Whether it is swimming, yoga or dancing, exercise helps you flush out the toxins from your system. This in turn reduces the excess heat from the body. So please don't stop exercising. And if you aren't a part of some calisthenics yet, buck up!

Oils to the rescue
Lavender clears heat, calms the mind, and relieves anxiety and irritability. Peppermint is also good for people who think too much; it clears a hot head. You can either use these in oil burners or just use the skin versions to dab a bit on your pulse points.

Spread some cheer
Make a conscious effort to stay calm and relaxed. Play some soothing music while travelling or a round of your favourite game online. This will keep your mind light and refreshed. Avoid taking tension about matters that aren't in your hand. This will keep you stress-free, and help you tackle important issues with a cool head. So, go ahead and face summer cheerfully!
