Nagpur: A confidential letter was delivered to the family of Yakub Memon today, whose petition against execution is currently being heard in the Supreme Court.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Dipak Misra and comprising Justices Prafulla C Pant and Amitava Roy is hearing Yakub Memon's plea.

In an unprecedented move, judges are meeting in the apex court tonight to hear a petition claiming that Yakub can't be hanged now as his mercy petition has just been rejected by President Pranab Mukherjee.
Senior lawyers, including Prashant Bhushan, Nitya Ramakrishnan, Yug Chaudahry and Brinda Grover had earlier reached the Chief Justice's residence, seeking to meet him regarding the death sentence of Yakub.
President Pranab Mukherjee had earlier rejected Yakub Memon's mercy plea.
The Supreme Court had also rejected Yakub Memon's petition on his death warrant.
The apex court had earlier also dismissed the curative petition of Yakub, saying proper procedure was followed in disposing of Yakub's curative petition.
