Parameshwaran, a habitual thief and native of Madurai added some new hobbies to his list after buying a phone with a camera, which included photographing nude women and blackmailing them.

Parameshwaran included his contact number and a message on the back of the photographs threatening to upload the photos on the Internet, if the victims did not pay a ransom.

According to the police, Parameshwaran had tried this approach with two persons in Madivala, following which one victim's relatives filed a complaint.

A police team nabbed him from his hometown by tracking his mobile call details and during questioning, Parameshwaran confessed to filming women bathing while hiding on terraces. He also confessed to having 10 SIM cards, which he used to blackmail various victims.

"The accused was also involved in several bike theft cases pending in the city and in various parts of Tamil Nadu," said M L Purushotham, PI.
