Country Club opens fitness centre in Abu Dhabi

Country Club India Ltd (CCIL), India's largest and fastest growing leisure and entertainment conglomerate, has rolled out its largest fitness centre till date in Abu Dhabi, the capital of United Arab Emirates

Spread over a sprawling 10,000 sq. ft., the state of the art Abu Dhabi fitness centre is located at Shining Towers and has separate gym areas for men and women. The centre also has a designated group activity area.

CCIL has announced Rs 350 crores expansion plan that aims at creating 100 fitness centres across India and abroad over the next three years. The company has appointed tennis ace Sania Mirza as its brand ambassador. It has opened 20 fitness centres across India and abroad in a span of few months. These fitness centres are operational at Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Pune, Nagpur, Bengaluru, Chennai, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Kolkata, Delhi, Dubai and now Abu Dhabi.u00a0Apart from providing ultra modern gymming facilities, these centres offer advise on diet, yoga, martial arts etc. for its members. CCIL recently introduced Zumba classes that proved to be a huge hit with members. Zumba is a dance fitness form that involves aerobic exercises through choreographed dance movements.

According to CCIL chairman, Y Rajeev Reddy, “We are constantly opening fitness centres in various formats depending on the city’s infrastructure. With higher disposable incomes and growing emphasis on health and fitness this industry is expected to grow by over 30 per cent on a year on year basis. We are the pioneers as far as private clubbing is concerned and aim to capitalise on this tremendous opportunity.”

Giving further details, Reddy stated “We are moving into the market with the right product offering. We are investing close to Rs 3.5 crores in each 4,000-10,000 sq ft. state-of-the-art facility that boasts of latest equipment, proper management and has experts to address the fitness needs of our members.” He explains, “The ultra-modern fitness facilities add value to our product offering and will attract more people towards the brand.” The company owns and operates over 50 clubs across India and abroad in countries such as Sri Lanka, Thailand and the Middle East. It has over 3.5 lakh members.u00a0
