It was a unique team effort with participants from the television world, Gitanjali Group and event organiser, ViceVersa.
The intensely fought T20 celebrity exhibition cricket match ‘Powerplay Sports for Cause’ had one common winner -- Anu Ranjan’s NGO BETI.
The initiative supports women victims of acid attacks and otheratrocities. MLA Baba Siddique was the guest of honour. At the event, Anu Ranjan, founder, BETI said, “Incidents of crime against women are increasing by the day in our city.
We have to come together to fight this menace. BETI has already taken up the cause of acid attack victims such as Sonali Mukherjee and Lalita Ben Bansi.” Gitanjali Group has been an active supporter of the BETI initiative for many years, having organised different events to propagate and support the cause, including fashion shows at India International Jewellery Week.
