Former India pace bowler S Sreesanth's chances of playing in Scotland may be decided on Friday, it is learnt. "Sreesanth attended the court hearing on Tuesday and will be present at the Kerala High Court on Friday too," said a source.

NOC required
"Court arguments are only to get the No Objection Certificate (NOC) for Sreesanth to play in Scotland and nothing related to his life-ban," his lawyer Sivan Madathil said.

"The court has postponed the hearing to April 21 after BCCI filed its reply, stating that they will not issue the NOC to Sreesanth," Madathil added. Sreesanth, who has been life-banned by the Indian cricket board for his alleged involvement in spot fixing during the 2013 edition of the Indian Premier League, had been acquitted by the Delhi police for want of evidence. If cleared, he will play for Glenrothes Club in the Scotland Premier League.

Meanwhile, Sreesanth revealed he is not following the ongoing IPL-10 closely. "I have no interest in the IPL. I want to concentrate on Test cricket only. My aim is to play for India in Tests," he said. "My United Kingdom and other visas are ready. I will catch the next flight once I get the go-ahead. Eddie Gibbs, a Glenrothes Club official said, "Our league starts on April 29 and will run for four to five months. It doesn't matter even if he misses the first couple of weeks."

Sree's finest hour
Sreesanth played 27 Tests for the country. His finest hour was experienced 10 seasons ago when he claimed eight wickets in the 2006-07 Johannesburg Test against South Africa to help India their win their first ever Test in the Rainbow Nation. However, India lost the second and third Tests in Durban and Cape Town respectively to lose the series 1-2. India were then led by Rahul Dravid and coached by Australian great Greg Chappell.

Earlier, Sreesanth's plea for a review of his life ban was "summarily rejected" by the BCCI, which said it will not compromise on its zero tolerance policy towards corruption.
