Madrid: Three-time World Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo has issued a rallying call to Real Madrid’s fans as they aim to overturn a 0-2 first leg deficit against Wolfsburg in their Champions League quarter-final tomorrow.

Goals from Ricardo Rodriguez and Maximilian Arnold have left Madrid with a mountain to climb to reach the semi-finals for a fifth consecutive season. However, Ronaldo remains confident Real’s free-scoring home form this season will ensure they overturn a first leg defeat in the Champions League for the first time since 2002.

“The team is confident, coach has faith and fans must also have faith. Tuesday has to be a magical night. It’s important to remain calm in certain situations, we need patience. The key objective is getting through to the next round. It’s the only option that will allow us players and you, the fans to leave the stadium happy,” Ronaldo told the club’s website.
