Portuguese star striker and Hollywood actress set to star in Turkish television series about Syrian refugees
Portuguese star striker Cristiano Ronaldo is set to feature in a Turkish television show alongside Hollywood actor Angelina Jolie. According to a report in The Sun, the Real Madrid footballer will appear in the series based on a Syrian family fleeing the country's civil war.
Ronaldo makes frequent trips to Turkey while Jolie is well known for her charity work.
Director Eyup Dirlik confirmed the duo's involvement to Turkish Football. He said: "We will begin filming in the first week of April. The series is about the plight of a refugee family and what they go through.
"There will be appearances from actors and actresses from all over the world including Cristiano Ronaldo, Angelina Jolie and Nancy Ajram."
It can be recalled that Ronaldo helped Turkish Football Federation president Yildirim Demiroren to open his shopping mall. The 32-year-old Ronaldo also has other business interests in the country and this venture certainly would raise the popularity of the four-time Ballon d'Or winner even higher.
