All we wanted to know was how do curious people think differently and what daily habits do they inculcate to fuel their curiosity,” says Harish Bhamidipati of Choose to Thinq, an online portal aimed at making people think and question. Founded by IT professionals Bhamidipati and Ramanand Janardhanan, the initiative holds pub quizzes every week at Doolally in Mumbai, and features “curious cases” on their website, which profiles interesting people who have an “incessant need to find out more” says Bhamidipati.

“These are people we have met at our quizzes who have intrigued us. The criteria is to be more ‘curious’ than ‘creative’. They should have an opinion and must air it (on social platforms) and should be someone people seek out for answers.” For example, they profile scientist Niranjan Pedanekar, who tells you that the latest interesting fact he learnt was that tea contains potassium; and freelance writer Mihir Patkar, who tells you that the one place he would love to visit is the Vatican library (come to think of it, so would we). “If visitors read a book or go to a website these guys mention, they could be smarter tomorrow.” Choose to Thinq will feature one curious person a week.
