For New Zealand, Anita Punt scored two goals while Gemma Flynn added the third. NZ opened the scoring in the third minute when Flynn utilised their first penalty corner and scored from a goal-mouth scramble.
After the change, the Kiwis continued to dominate and doubled their lead in the 46th minute from another penalty corner, perfectly converted by Punt. Punt later scored off a penalty strike to make it 3-0.
