With the arrest of 31-year-old Yusoof Madoor in Riyadh, (KSA) recently, the state police have succeeded yet again in spoiling D gang's plans to set a base in coastal Karnataka.

Madoor who until recently was in Riyadh, was nabbed at the Riyadh airport by the Interpol after Mangalore police issued a red corner notice against him.

According to police officials, Madoor had been chosen as a deputy for the D-gang to take over operations at costal Karnataka after Rashid Malbari's arrest.

Rashid Malbari, a key shooter of the Dawood Ibrahim and Chhota Shakeel gang, was arrested close to Ullal, a town near Mangalore, by Department of Criminal Intelligence Bureau (DCIB) investigators in March last year.

Intelligence Bureau had tipped them about Malbari, who had been contracted by one Ismail to gun down a local politician in Kasargod, Kerala. Malbari was finally arrested in a bungalow on the outskirts of Ullal.

Malbari's arrested associates are Ibrahim Kapu, Saibu, Yasin and Sohail, all known Dawood henchmen. A senior police officer said that Madoor's costal Karnatakla roots made him a perfect choice for the Dawood gang.
