A quickfire start by West Indies hard-hitteru00a0 Chris Gayle ufffd 26 runs off just 14 balls with four fours and a six, was the ideal platform for one-drop batsman Kohli to live up to his pre-match promise of making full use of the 'home' advantage by slamming an entertaining half-century.

Kohli's innings more than made up for the early loss of Sri Lankan Tillakaratne Dilshan, who fell for a duck.
South African paceman Morne Morkel claimed 3-25 in Delhi's losing effort.

Earlier, Delhi relied on a 43-ball 54 by Australian James Hopes to post a challenging total.

After opener David Warner fell cheaply for just seven, skipper Sehwag was run out for 25 but Hopes built a crucial partnership with Venugopal Rao (24) for the fourth wicket.

Naman Ojha (16) and Irfan Pathan (13 no) provided the late flourish.

Bangalore jumped to second place in the table with seven points from as many games, while Delhi were
languishing at second from the bottom after their fourth loss in six games.
