Dhawan stars for North Zone on Day One in Duleep Trophy

Riding on skipper Shikhar Dhawan's brilliant 101, North Zone scored 251 for three against West Zone on the first day of the four-day Duleep Trophy quarter-final at the MA Chidambaram Stadium here on Saturday.

North Zone, who are without the services of top stars like Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, were in absoluteu00a0command since the timeu00a0their captain Dhawan won the toss and elected to bat.

Dhawan’s 101 came off 179 balls and was laced with 15 boundaries. He also shared a 164-run first wicket partnership with opener Rahul Dewan (65).
