India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been rested for the entire five-match series against the West Indies starting November 29 in Cuttack.

Virender Sehwag was appointed captain. Sachin Tendulkar too has been rested, but is expected to play the last two games of the series which will give him an opportunity to get his landmark 100th international century.
He missed getting to his coveted mark by six runs on Day Four of the third Test against West Indies at the Wankhede Stadium yesterday.

If Tendulkar plays the last two games, he will start off in Indore, a venue where he reached 10,000 runs in one-day international cricket - against the Aussies in 2001.

It is learnt that Yuvraj Singh, who lost his place in the Test squad after failures in the Delhi and Kolkata Tests, informed the Board that he has not recovered from an illness. A source told MiD DAY yesterday that he was keen on playing domestic cricket to get back into the groove.

The squad for the first three matches: Sehwag (captain), Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Parthiv Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Praveen Kumar, Vinay Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Varun Aaron, Rohit Sharma, Manoj Tiwary, Rahul Sharma.
