Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has written to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressing his desire to establish a sports academy and school in the state to promote talent, an official said Tuesday.
Dhoni said he wishes to groom the state's talent with complete dedication and commitment not only in the field of the cricket, but in other sports too.
Requesting Chouhan to make the suitable sites available for establishment of these institutions, Dhoni wrote: "Many youths wish to bring laurels to the state and the country as well. And our efforts would make their dreams come true."
"Several youths and sports persons of the country wish to represent the country in different fields. However, they could not deliver the goods due to non availability of proper infrastructure and training facilities," he said in his letter, the official said.
Dhoni added that he wishes to set up a sports school where children could attain excellence in the field of sports and in education as well besides develop discipline, commitment and spirit of hard labour.
