Looks like Harshvardhan Kapoor may have been a tough nut to crack for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Sonam’s brother may have signed the director’s next but apparently having said no in the beginning. And sources say it took some gentle coaxing from his sister to give his nod for the project.
Insiders also say that Harsh, who’s currently assisting Anurag Kashyap for his upcoming film, was approached by Vikramaditya Motwane for Lootera. But he turned down that as well.
A source says, “Harshvardhan has been receiving a lot of offers ever since he has returned from the US post completing his course in film making and writing. But he was in no hurry to take up anything. In fact, he was not in favour to take up acting and always wanted to remain behind the cameras.”
Those close to the Kapoor khandan say that since Sonam is about to sign her third project with Rakeysh, she took it upon herself to convince her brother to give acting a shot. “Rakeysh shares a great rapport with Sonam. Instead of trying to convince Harsh and Anil Kapoor, he sought her help.” adds the source. Rakeysh remained unavailable for comment.
