The Women’s Cell of the Crime Branch, which is investigating the case of alleged rape against DIG Sunil Paraskar, claimed yesterday that they had learnt that Paraskar had used Bimal Agarwal’s vehicle to take the survivor to the Madh Island bungalow where he had allegedly raped her.

Agarwal, the director of Techno Trade, was arrested in 2012 for allegedly supplying inferior quality bomb suits to the Mumbai police after the 26/11 attacks.

The survivor had claimed that Paraskar had molested her in a Navi Mumbai flat and raped her in the bungalow in Malad in November 2013. The DIG had allegedly taken her there on the pretext of showing her the bungalow, where a photo shoot could allegedly be held for free.
“The accused took her in a vehicle to the Madh bungalow, where she was allegedly raped. We have identified the vehicle and it is owned by Bimal Agarwal of Techno Trade, the company that was blacklisted after the 26/11 attacks for providing poor quality bomb disposal suits. We may ask Agarwal to explain why he had given Paraskar the vehicle,” said a senior police officer.
Agarwal, the director of Techno Trade, is also charged with cheating and forgery in the supply of security waist belts to the Fire Brigade. Agarwal is said to be connected with several IPS officers and BMC officers, and has been managing to get contracts and tenders even after his company was blacklisted.
Despite repeated attempts, Agarwal could not be reached for comment on the case.
Will fight alone if need be: Survivor
“God is with me. If I am wrong I am ready to go to jail,” the visibly tensed Goregaon-based model, who has filed a rape case against DIG Sunil Paraskar,
told mid-day yesterday. She said she would fight alone even if everyone leaves her side.
“I have always fought and will continue to do so,” said the model. Tight-lipped on the matter so far, she spoke to this paper a day after a local court extended the interim protection from arrest granted to Paraskar till August 5.
The model, who sounded unhappy with the court’s Thursday order, said that she was not wrong, even as the Crime Branch opposed Paraskar’s anticipatory bail saying that prima-facie a case was made out against him.
