Former superintendent of police, Thane Central Jail, Hiralal Jadhav, suspended early last month after a complaint of molestation and sexual assault was lodged against him, has now been asked to vacate the bungalow on the premises he has been staying in.

Jadhav recently allowed six to seven private vehicles inside the jail premises, which is against the rules. Authorities conducted an inquiry into it and found him guilty.

A notice issued to him has cited ‘security reasons’ as the ground on which he must vacate within 14 days. He has also been asked to remain present at the Aurangabad prison headquarters.

Rule-breaker
mid-day has access to the notice that was issued by Inspector General (IG), south region, Rajvardhan Sinha on October 3. It states that on September 26, six to seven vehicles with political flags had come outside the jail and Jadhav ordered personnel to open the gate for them. However, the staff refused to obey him as it was against the rules. He then allegedly came out himself and opened the gate. Around 40 people got out and spent hours with Jadhav at his bungalow. The reason behind this visit is yet unknown.
