A suburban hotel is hosting two mermaids from Russia, both synchronised swimmers, who swim about in an 18-feet deep tank, holding their breath for as long as 15 minutes at a stretch. Evegenya and Irina swim around exotic, even poisonous fish. "The fish here are from the Red Sea. While 90% are poisonous, the rest are mighty aggressive," claims the restaurant manager. Whirling Dervishes are Sufi mystics who worship through dance and music. Troubadour, a one-man performance, is influenced by the writings of 13th-century Sufi saint and poet Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi, who founded the Mehelvi order or the Dervishes. Performer Salim Ghouse picks some of Rumi's finest pieces from an English translation, to direct a 70-minute show that he also acts in.
