Ever thought you'd be taking instructions to find your way, from the visually impaired? At the fourth Blind Man's Car Rally, you steer across Mumbai while a visually impaired person sitting next to you decodes instructions provided in Braille. Get to know your new friend and his world as you zip across check-points between Bandra and Colaba to race to the end. The money generated from the time-speed-distance rally, organised by Round Table India and the National Association for the Blind (NAB), will go towards buying Braille kits for NAB and setting up a school for children of migrant labourers near Vapi. Last day to register is today.

At the Fair Trade Forum's fair, rural artisans from around the country have gathered to fill up the 30 stalls that display locally made products, including handwoven home linen, personal accessories and products, painted wooden artifacts, papier-mu00e2chu00e9 products, coir and grass baskets, handwoven saris with ikkat work, and ceramics. You have a good reason to stuff your shopping bag since sale proceeds go directly to the artisans.

Seeing a dance in progress is one thing. Witnessing B-boy and B-girl crews defy gravity and battle it out on a dance floor, is another. In a room plastered with mirrors, top crews from around the city will assemble and "battle" it out on Sunday, and you can be their witness. In fact, you get to decide who tops them all. Arts in Motion is throwing open its dance studio to the Freak n Stylz crew that's getting together breakdancing crews from all over Mumbai under one roof. The showstopper: an all B-girl battle. This weekend, chatter over piping-hot chai as you await for the play to begin might be interrupted by a German haiku. Pen @ Prithvi, a group that gets together authors, poets, essayists and the listener under one roof, has brought down three foreign poets who will read poems in their native language with English translations. Austrian publisher Peter Waugh, Cuban essayist Maru00eda Elena Blanco who writes pre-dominantly in Spanish, and Austrian-Venezuelan writer-essayist-critic Enrique Moya will be reading out their works, this Sunday.
