A resident doctor of a government medical college was arrested here today for allegedly molesting a woman intern, police said.
A resident doctor in the medicine department of Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda, was arrested today for allegedly molesting a woman intern, SDPO, Kangra, Dinesh Kumar said.
Police registered a case on the complaint of the 24-year-old intern, who had alleged that the doctor had misbehaved with her in the lab on Monday.
She said the staff came to her rescue when she cried for help, however, the doctor fled from the spot. Later the girl went to the college authorities, who first reportedly tried to "settle the matter amicably" but later registered a case against the doctor. T
he doctor was arrested today and was released on bail by a local court, SDPO said. A sexual harassment committee of the college would submit its report tomorrow, following which further action would be taken against the doctor, principal of the college Dr Anil Chauhan said.
