Dog day afternoon for fire department

The mongrel had fallen into a drain near Market Yard gate number one. Acting on a call from locals, the fire department pulled up its socks to rescue a dog.

Doggone: A 3-month-old puppy was rescued in an operation carried out by fire brigade on Sunday evening

The dog had fallen 15 feet and was stuck in a 24-inch pipeline. “We reached the spot around 4 pm. First, we released the gas from the drain and then, one of our men entered.

When he saw the puppy, our man crawled down 30 feet and rescued it,” informed Yogesh Chorge, a fireman.
