Designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacock will be designing the wedding gown for famous Hollywood tattoo artist Kat Von D who is set to wed Joel Zimmerman (aka Deadmau5).

Excerpts from an interview with Falguni:
Tell us about the experience of working on the wedding gown for Kat Von D?
When Kat asked us to design her wedding gown while we were in New York showcasing at NYFW, we were thrilled. Her wedding is underwater-themed which is very unique. Her gown is not a typical white coloured one. Instead we are working with teals, blues and deep violet ombre gradients. However, we are still in the process of finalising the finer details of the gown. We are going to LA soon to show Kat what we are working on.
What do you feel about the fashion circuit in Pune? Do you feel it is changing and people are becoming more adaptable to new fashion?
We feel Pune is an upcoming market; people are taking fashion more seriously. Women are ready to experiment and are definitely more adaptive to the latest fashion trends. And we are not surprised as today there are so many international fashion brands launching their stores in Pune which, in turn, makes people more aware of international fashion trends.
What is the difference between designing for Bollywood and Hollywood?
It’s more or less the same. The only difference is that in Hollywood we do not have any limitations whereas in Bollywood one has to be careful on what we can show or what we can’t.
Are Indians still behind in understanding the real fashion?
Indians are becoming more aware of trends. There are so many international fashion brands from high end to high street, all of them are opening stores in India. Women here are dressing edgy, quirky and moving away from the typical styles. Today Indian women are equally fashionable as compared to abroad.
Are weddings that grand in India?
Where weddings are concerned Indian weddings have always grander than weddings in other countries. No one spends as much as we Indians do at weddings. Indians are, in fact, now choosing exotic locations like the French Riviera, Bali, and Florence. The bride, groom and the families spend a lot on designer wear and jewellery. So, we feel Indian weddings have always been and will always be grand.
Can you offer some fashion tips for Puneites.
Crop tops, maxi dresses, flared pants and long skirts are all in now. We personally feel more than following the trend it’s theu00a0confidence and attitude that really matters. So our tip to Pune girls is to not blindly follow trends. Instead be comfortable and carry whatever you wear with panache.
