An alert neighbour heard the boy crying out loud and nabbed Sheikh after which he was handed over to police. According to the police, the victim had arrived in the city with his grandparents from Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. The plan was to visit some tourist sites and return the next day.
Stranded
On Wednesday evening, they boarded a train from Bandra Terminus for their hometown, but when the train reached Borivli the victim got separated from his grandparents and got left behind at the station. He telephoned his parents and told them of his plight. They asked him to stay put and informed him that they would come and pick him up.
With his pockets empty and no food to eat, the boy somehow reached Bandra Terminus the next day. He was looking for something to eat when the accused spotted him and lured him with a vada pav to an empty room at the railway colony.
