If there is one player who can hurt Mumbai Indians' chances against Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, he is Francois 'Faf' du Plessis.

The South African opener is not just the find of the tournament for the defending champions, but has made full use of the opportunity to fill in the void created due to Michael Hussey’s absence early on.

Du Plessis has struck three half centuries in 11 matches and is the fifth highest run-scorer (376) overall in the Indian Premier League-V. The right-hander scored a brilliant 42 in the last match against Deccan Chargers on Friday. His consistent performance might be a cause of concern for Harbhajan Singh’s men if they have to make early inroads.

Rohit Sharma said they need to plan well against Du Plessis. “Their opener Du Plessis is doing well. We have to strategise accordingly and not give him too many (runs),” Sharma said on Saturday. “They (CSK) haven’t had a great season so far. They have had their ups and downs.

But we know they are a good team and can bounce back. We can’t take anybody lightly. Their confidence will be high after winning last night (Friday). We have beaten them when last played against them (April 4). We will try to put pressure on them right from the start,” he added.u00a0
