While most guys prefer flowers and candies to impress the ladies, two men went the extra mile to attract female attention. The Khar police have arrested two men accused in a car theft case, who would steal Honda City cars to attend parties and impress girls. They would unlock the cars using a master key given to them by a friend. A total of six cars were recovered from them.
The incident came to light when Khar police interrogated the accused, who confessed that they used to steal cars, go to parties and take girls for long drives. When a car’s petrol ran out, they would simply find another Honda City and move on.
The two accused have been identified as Zuber Mustafa Shaikh (29), a resident of Mumbra and Shabbir Ali Sayed (19), a resident of Chapel Road in Bandra. The duo had acquired the master key from a friend named Nadeem.
According to the police, the accused belong to a well-to-do family and would steal cars to show off and impress women. The two were arrested by the Dharavi police, and were brought to Khar police station where they confessed to the crime. The police are currently in search of Nadeem, who is suspected of being a professional car thief from a bigger gang.
According to the police, Zuber works at Manish market as a salesman, while Shabbir is an IT student in a well-known city college. “The accused have been arrested for the theft of the cars. They had the master key, with which they used to open the cars and take them for a drive,” said API Navnath Sonavne of Khar police station.
